She was born in Portland, a daughter of Edward and Margaret Keene Johnson Sr., and attended local schools, graduating from South Portland High School.
She worked as a telephone operator at the former Canal Bank in Portland.
She was a self-taught piano player and watched TV.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara B. Davidson of South Portland; three stepsons, David E. Burks of Vienna, Va., Rucker W. Burks of Parker, Colo., and Ernest R. Burks III of Northborough, Mass.; a sister, Murial Chase of Brewer; 12 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Portland.
