BRASWELL John Braswell (Jake) passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 14, 2013. He was 77. Beloved husband of Linda Fabre Braswell (Queen) of 49 years. Father Nancy Wainwright (James) and John Paul Braswell. Grandfather of Ashley, Amber, Cheyenne, and Gabe. Great-Grandfather of Dylan, Jasmine, Josh, and Logen. Brother of Johnnie Dykes and the late Marynell Alexandria, Lorraine Dykes, Joe Braswell, and Edward Earle. Son of the late John and Lucy Braswell. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to Johnny (Pee-Wee) Dykes. John was a native of Jayess, Mississippi, and resident of Marrero for the past 40 years. He retired as a supervisor for Leonard Pipeline. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most importantly, spending time with his loving family and friends. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service from Westside Leitz-Eagan, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Friday Afternooon, September 20, 2013 at 1:30. Visitation will begin at 9:00 in the morning. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to his caretakers, including the staff of Heart of Hospice, Meechy Ghivizzani, and Dr. McSween.
