Married Dolores Jean South on November 17, 1951, presumably in Yarmouth, Maine where both were living at the time.

Obituary published in Maine Sunday Telegram on Sunday, September 7, 2008:

YARMOUTH -- On Sept. 4, 2008, following a recent illness, Ray MacLearn Sr., 77, left this life to be with his Lord. In Portland, on Jan. 3, 1931, Ray was born to George E. MacLearn and Olive MacFarlane MacLearn. He and his family had deep roots in Yarmouth where he lived for the majority of his life. Ray was a graduate of North Yarmouth Academy. On Nov. 17, 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, D. Jean MacLearn and together they raised six children and enjoyed their eight grandchildren. Ray served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years during the Korean War. Following that he worked for the Burroughs Corporation for 33 years until the time of his retirement. In his retirement Ray enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in Maine. He continued to be very active working part-time at L.L. Bean and Ken's Hardware and Monitoring Sales and Service. Ray lived a rich and full life, a life marked by integrity and faith. He put God first, then family, and friendships. He and Jean loved children and enjoyed parenting. They opened their home to youth groups, friends, and any who needed shelter or support. The sounds of conversation and laughter always filled their home. He and his family summered on Little John's Island, enjoyed camping, boating on Casco Bay and many trips to Florida. After four years of being alone, Marjorie Chamberlain, also of Yarmouth, came into Ray's life and in September 2007 he and Marjorie exchanged vows of love and commitment. Although their time together was brief, it was rich with laughter and love, games of tennis, golf, and Phase 10. Ray was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, D. Jean MacLearn; a grandchild, Robert C. Harris; and a nephew George N. MacLearn. He is survived by his 'new best friend,' the person who stole his heart the second time, Marjorie Chamberlain; his son, Raymond G. MacLearn Jr. and his wife Dawn, and their children, Meredith and Joshua; his daughter, Susan J. Sullivan and her children, Wesley and Hillary; his daughter Sandra J. Robson and her husband Mark, and their children, Emily and Sarah; his son, Russell G. MacLearn and his wife Jennifer Hunt-MacLearn; his daughter, Stacey J. Harris and her husband CDR Gregory and their children, Brie and Connor and his daughter, Stephanie J. MacLearn and her husband Peter Maloof. He is also survived by great-granddaughter, Maddison Jean; and his brother and dear friend, Rodney MacLearn and his wife Gladys. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at 11 am. There will be a celebration of Ray's life for close friends and family from 12 to 4 p.m. at Russell and Jennifer's home on Carriage Hill Road in North Yarmouth. It was Ray's request that those wishing to honor his memory make a contribution to the First Baptist Church Camp Scholarship Fund at the address below. First Baptist Church in Portland Camp Scholarship Fund (in Memory of Raymond G. MacLearn Sr.) 360 Canco Rd. Portland, Maine 04103 Raymond G. MacLearn Sr.
