He was born on April 30, 1944 in Hartford City the son of Cecil and Alice (Armitage) Conner, graduated from Harrison Township High School in 1962, and attended Ball State University.
Mr. Conner was employed with Chevrolet Muncie for ten years, then was a realtor with Century 21, an insurance agent for Shelter Insurance, and then was an independent insurance agent until his retirement.
He was a gifted piano player who enjoyed playing for family and friends. He also composed the graduation song for his high school graduation.
Surviving are his loving wife of twenty-six years, Carmen; his mother, Alice Conner, Muncie; three sons, Rod Conner (wife, Melody), Houston, TX, Rick Conner (wife, Deidre), Houston, TX, and Brian Conner (wife, Ann), Bloomfield; two step-sons, Stuart Burke (wife, Rachel), Indianapolis and Brian Burke (wife, Rachael), Centerville, VA; eleven grandchildren, McKenzie, Ryan, Sean, Patrick, Kierra, Madelynn, Samantha, Jonathan, Katie, Christopher, and Isabelle; two sisters, Ginny Crone (husband, Joe), Shamrock Lakes and Nancy Hendershot (husband, Paul), Muncie; his brother, Tim Conner, Muncie; his best four-legged friend, Lucy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Kathy Bedwell.
