Alfred Quintin Best, 84, passed away peacefully at home December 11, 2002.

Born August 5, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rupert Conk Best and Josephine Skidmore Hardy. He married Gladys Dial in the Logan LDS Temple on June 29, 1945. Alfred graduated from Granite High School.

He was a skilled carpenter and craftsman. His greatest joy in life was his family. He had a beautiful singing voice which he shared with many throughout his life. Fishing was a favorite past time.

He is survived by his wife Gladys; his children, Linnita (Ted) Proctor, Phyllis (Lynn) Smith, Lucille (David) Houser, Bonnie (Douglas) Smith, Darrell (Kim) Best, Suzanne (Kim) Thacker, Brent (Lisa) Best, Kent (Laura) Best, Douglas (Laura) Best, Amy (Bradley) Mayeda, Natalie (Bruce) Cline; 49 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters Naomi Hodgson, Virginia (Harrison) Benner; brothers George Kenneth (Doris) Best, and Warren (Marion) Best. Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three grandsons.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the Crescent 7th LDS Ward Chapel, (949 E. 10600 S.) Sandy, Utah at 1:00 p.m. where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
