Jack Floyd, son of William Joseph Floyd, Jr and Martha Joy Sevola Rice was born in Taylor, Williamson, TX where the family lived until shortly before 1940. By 1940 the family was settled in Fresno, Fresno, CA where Joe Floyd worked as a farmer.

In January 1951 Jack enlisted in the Army, then married his sweetheart Beverly Joyce Harrell before heading off to the Korean War. Jack was killed in action just 3 1/2 months later.

Private First Class Floyd was a member of the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on August 30, 1951.

Private First Class Floyd was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

He was returned to the US and buried on 30 Nov 1951 with Jay Chapel of Madera, CA in charge of his service.

Jack was not only loved, but he was, and still is, missed by many.
