Richard "Rick" Higginbotham, 72 of Mannington, WV passed away at 3:17 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer caused by Asbestos. He was born August 1, 1941. He was the son of the late Lester and June Higginbotham of Mannington.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Higginbotham; his grandparents, Luther and Mary Higginbotham and Fred and Blanche Moore; and his inlaws, Lawrence and Amy Haught.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Higginbotham; a son, Jeff Higginbotham and wife Jennifer of Rachel; two daughters, Lori Higgins and husband Larry of Rymer and Lisa Higginbotham of Mannington; 7 grandchildren, Courtney Malcolm and husband Andrew of Idamay, Emily Higginbotham of Rachel, Trisha Higgins of Elkins, Samantha Higginbotham of Rachel, Lauren Higginbotham of Rachel, Ashley Higginbotham of Rachel and Rusty Parrish of Mannington.

Rick was a devoted Christian, husband, father and grandfather. He was a machinist. He loved working with his hands, building numerous things. He attended West Farmington United Methodist Church. He was very close to the Lord and had tremendous Faith.

Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St, Mannington, WV Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Floyd Spatafore officiating. Burial will be in Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
