SUDDEN DEATH
Mrs. Esther Fickes, mother of Mrs. Joseph Ferguson, of this village, died at her home near Fairchild, in this state, on the 18th inst. aged 85 years.
It is thought that her death was occasioned by over-joy at receiving a visit from her daughters, Mrs. Furguson(sic) and Mrs. Ringer, of Vernon County, whom she had not seen in fifteen years. They arrived there a few days previous to her death and found her in her usual health. The excitement was too much for her enfeebled and aged condition, and she was soon stricken with paralysis, and remained in an unconscious condition till her death.
