Alice M. Derr of Bloomsburg, 99

Alice M. Derr, 99, 708 Poplar St., Bloomsburg, died Sunday morning in the Bloomsburg Hospital. She had been in ill health for two weeks. She was a guest at the Boone Health Care Center, Millville.

Born April 26, 1882, on Dahl Road, Hemlock Township, she was the daughter of the late William A., and Susan Pursel Miller. She was the oldest living member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. Mrs. Derr was a member of the United Methodist Women, one of two surviving members of the Ladies of the Golden Eagle.

Mrs. Derr was preceded in death by her husband, Parson C., in September 1968; and a daughter, Gertrude Miller in August 1966.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William V. (Lucille) Wright, Berwick; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Wesley United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Donald Harper, her pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Oliver H. Krapf. Burial will be in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy, under the direction of the James L. Hinckley, Jr. Funeral Home, Berwick.
