PETER ACKERMAN, who for many years was in business in Mansfield, died at noon today at the M & T Sanitarium in Mount Vernon, where he has for the past year been receiving treatment. Mr. Ackerman had suffered for a number of years with locomotor ataxia. He was born Dec. 28, 1853, in Hesse- Darmstadt, Germany, coming to this country and locating in Mansfield in 1865. he conducted a barber shop in Mansfield for many years, retiring on account of his health. He was married in 1876 to Mary Hein, who preceded him in death seven years ago, He is survived by a son, George W Ackerman, of Stockton, California, and three daughters, Mrs. Charles Old, of this city, and Mrs. Fred Pawsey, and Mrs. George Shearer, of Bucyrus; also a brother, Henry Ackerman, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Schmunk, and Mrs. Charles Huess, of this city. The body will be brought to this city, but arrangements have not yet been completed.
