Actor. The younger brother of actor Robert Harron, he made his screen debut with a small role in D. W. Griffith's "Hearts of the World" (1918). After Robert Harron's mysterious death in 1920, John suddenly found himself in demand and he went on to appear in over 160 films. During the 1920s he played wholesome, all-American types in such titles as "Love In the Dark" (1922), "The Painted Flapper" (1924), "The Boy Friend" (1926), and "Silk Stockings" (1927). But he never enjoyed his brother's success, and after appearing in the cult classic "White Zombie" (1932) he was relegated to uncredited bits. He died of a heart attack at 36.
