Howell, May 22: Harriet Avery passed away at her home at N. Almon St. in Howell, after being in failing health since early spring, but not serious until she developed a severe cold a week before her death.
She was born in Putnam Township, Jan 16, 1842 a daughter of David and Mehitable (Newton) Sprague. After marrying Henry E. Avery, they removed to Ingham County where they resided for 3 yrs, then removing to the Avery farm in Marion Township, where they lived for 18 yrs, then removing to the city of Howell.
Survivors: Son, Dr. Ernest L Avery of Howell, Cassius Bruce Avery of Duluth, Minn., daughter, Mrs. Frank Bailey of Plymouth. Son, Dr. Harry Avery of Chelsea passed away last Feb.
Internment in Howell Mausoleum.
