Richard W. Buske -- Rochester
ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Richard W. Buske will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Peace United Church of Christ, with the Rev. David Droog officiating. Burial will be in the Oronoco Cemetery.
Mr. Buske, 70, of 415 11th Ave. S.E., Rochester, a longtime carpenter, died Sunday (Feb. 17, 2002) at his home.
He was born May 14, 1931, in Rochester. During the Korean conflict he served as a damage-control specialist on the USS Fisk. In 1952 he married Joan R. Bell and they were later divorced. A carpenter for 40 years, he worked for Kruse Co., had been self-employed and was a foreman for Mortenson at Mayo Clinic. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, VFW, American Legion, the Moose, Elks and Eagles lodges, UTC, Carpenters Union Local 1382 and Boy Scouts.
Survivors include a son, Lon (Julie) of Apple Valley, Minn.; two daughters, Vicki (Dennis) Blazing and Kim Buske, both of Rochester; four grandchildren; three sisters, Janet (Alvin) Mathews of Oronoco, Barbara (Robert) Stuve of Rochester and Phyllis (William) Marshall of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a brother, Donald (Kathryn) of Rochester. A brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ranfranz Funeral Home and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
