W. R. Hickson, who states DOB as 11 Sept 1840, has a CSA pension application on line under Macon County in the GA Archives. He says he enlisted in July 1861 and served with Company D of the 13th GA Regt. Gordon's brigade. In battle in Maryland in 1964-65 he was wounded in his left shoulder. His pension was first disapproved for failure to prove his arm had become useless. But then it was later approved at $15 per Year. Proof of his death on 13 Aug 1908 is included as well as his marriage to Mollie E. Avery in Pike County, GA.
