Daughter Mary married James Shepard who was born and died in the Town of Sheridan, Chautauqua County, NY. Mary's father was Rev John Spencer, the pioneer missionary in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Erie, Wyoming, Genesee and part of Niagara counties from 1807 to his death in Sheridan in 1826. He donated the plot of ground on which the West Sheridan Cemetery rests today. He is credited with organizing in excess of 55 churches in western New York during his tenure here.
