Mrs. Bessie Smith Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Smith, died at the Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Sunday morning, November 10, at 8:30 o'clock.
Before her marriage to Russell Jones, October 21. 1933, she had lived for some time with her parents in Hopewell.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Hopewell Church and was known as a young woman of Christian character. Her friends in this community and in other parts of the county where she had resided were many. For several years she was a teacher in the Union Township schools.
Those of the family surviving are the husband, parents, two brothers, Roy and Ralph, and two sisters, Miss Laura Smith, and Mrs. Russell Green, New Richmond, Indiana.
Funeral services were at the Providence Christian Church Tuesday afternoon. In charge of the service Rev. C.H. DeVoe, a former pastor of the church at Providence. Burial was in the Hopewell Cemetery.
