Bettye Ertl, 86, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013. Funeral: 3 p.m. Friday at Edge Park United Methodist Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Bettye was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Fort Worth to Walter and Odessa Raney. She was the youngest of five children. Bettye was a monument builder in Bowie for the majority of her professional life. She moved back to Fort Worth in 1994. Bettye loved to travel and visited many countries over the years. She also enjoyed playing bridge. She was involved in her church and did volunteer work. She was preceded in death by her parents and her four brothers. Survivors: Husband, Walter; stepson, Gary Ertl; children, Janet Aday and husband, Don, Paula Brock, Karen Henderson and James Nowicki; and grandchildren, Jason Matthews, Sarah Matthews and Lane Henderson.
