Albert Farris, Jr., 90, died at Christian Care West on Friday May 18, 2012. He was born on January 11, 1922 to the late Albert, Sr. and Mattie Grubbs Farris.

Albert grew up in Louisville where he was a life-long and active member of First Gethsemane Baptist Church. Albert fought in World War II. He worked for 32 years at Louisville Cooperage (formerly Schenley Industries).

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 63 years, Lillian Lee (Hoskins) Farris; sons, Rothel Farris (Gloria) and Darnell Farris (Yolanda); grandchildren, Gerard Farris (Nikki) and Gerren Farris; great-grandchildren, Gerard Farris, Jr., Jalen Farris and Nia Farris, and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family in Louisville, Richmond and Farristown, KY.

Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 followed by service at 6 p.m. at First Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1159 Algonquin Parkway. Entombment is 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd.
