Pauline Kingma Faber passed away peacefully Oct.19, 2003, at the age of 94. She was born April 16, 1909, the seventh of nine children born to Ralph and Kathleen DeKoekkoek Kingma in Hillogom, Netherlands. Her family immigrated through Canada, settling in Oak Harbor in 1914.
Pauline married Pete Faber on June 20, 1929. They lived in Oak Harbor until 1943 when their farm was purchased for Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in World War II. The family farmed in Skagit County for several years. They moved to Mount Vernon in 1953, after purchasing Conway Feed.
Pauline was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed a tidy house, gardening, flowers, family gatherings, visiting with friends and her church activities. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Faber, her parents, brothers and sisters John Kingma, Audrey Bultman, Jessie Kruick, Gert Van Winkle, Bud Kingma, Joe Kingma and a son, Stanley Faber. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Nel Kingma and her children Don Faber, daughter-in-law Grace Faber, Les and Joy Faber, Kyse and Dr. Jack Kamps, Charles and Anita Faber, John and Cindy Faber. Their families include 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the loving and faithful staff at Mountain Glen and Mira Vista for their attention to Pauline as she lived among them.
