Dianne F. (Simon) Johnson, age 67, reposed on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at her home in Birmingham, Ala. after suffering with lung cancer for three years. She was a graduate of East High School and Bryant- Stratton Business School in Buffalo, N.Y. Dianne lived and worked in New York City, California, Hawaii and Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Simons, who was killed in action in Germany during WWII, and Irene and Steve Simon as well as her brother, Gregory Simon. Dianne is survived by her beloved husband, Earl Johnson of Birmingham; a son, Dr. Steven Edelstein of Chicago, Ill. and his wife Julie and their children Conner and Addison. She is also survived by her brothers, Father Steven Pimen Simon and his wife Jayne and Father Deacon Philip Mitrophan Simon and his wife Gale, both of Erie along with several nieces, nephews, and great -nephews. A private service and burial was held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity of Christ. Memorials may be made to the Church's Endowment Fund.
