NOTES ON AJ:
FATHER Samuel David Caldwell, a son of David and Hannah (Hart) Caldwell, was born in NC January 10, 1830 and died in WV February 29, 1916.
He married 1 Susan Williams. Susan was born about 1832 and died before 1864.
Samuel married 2 Rebecca Jane (Plummer) Young. Rebecca, a daughter of Samuel and Mahala (Reeves) Plummer, was born April 6, 1834 in Ashe County NC and died January 6, 1902. She first married John Roy Young. He died from complications of measles in the Civil War.
The family lived in Alleghany County NC and is listed in the 1880 census for that county. The couple moved to Clay County WV to be near their children and died there.

Hi Gary,
My ggg grandparents were David (born 1802) and Hannah Caldwell of Prathers Creek, NC.
David's father was Joseph married to Sarah/Sallie.
One of David's sons was Samuel David Caldwell who had many children.
One I believe is Andrew Jackson Caldwell who married Elizebeth Sturgill.
Other people believe that Andrew was the son of Joseph Caldwell who married Sarah Wyatt.
Any info/proof as to who Andrew's father was?
