John B. Stich, 92, Country Manor Health Care and Retirement Center, Sartell, formerly of Route 2, Avon, died Saturday at St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev Corwin Collins officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 pm today at Daniel Funeral Home, St.Joseph. The St. Joseph Senior Citizens and the St. Joseph Holy Name Society will pray the rosary at 4 pm. Parish prayers will be at 8 pm.
Mr.Stich was born Aug 16, 1889 in St. Joseph to the late John and Theresa (Weis) Stich. He was married to Susan Gillitzer, who died in 1929. He was married to Margaret Michels in Cold Spring in 1930. A lifelong resident of St. Joseph area, he farmed and belonged to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the St. Joseph Holy Name Society and the St. Joseph Senior Citizens.
Survivors include sons, Melvin and Ervin, Seattle; Cletus, Rush City; Edwin, Savage; and Carl, St Joseph; daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Mary Ann) Wendt, Luck, WI; and Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Gangl, Freeport; 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, George, St. Cloud; and sisters, Clara Norden, St. Cloud; and Magie Reber, St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his wives, a son, a brother and two sisters.
