Obituary in the Bradford County Telegraph of Starke, Florida dated June 15, 1945 : Enoch Jefferson Roberts, 88, retired lumberman and naval stores operator as well as a prominent resident of Lawtey since 1912, died at the home of his son, Dr. Earl H. Roberts, at Jacksonville Beach. He had been visiting there for the past three months. Affectionately known by his friends as "Uncle Jeff", Mr. Roberts was a native of Moniac, Georgia and an active member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by five sons; L.E. Roberts of St. George, Zack Roberts of Hastings, John Roberts of South Jacksonville, George W. Roberts of Lawtey and Dr. Earl H. Roberts of Jacksonville Beach; four daughters, Mrs Mamie Oliver of Baldwin, Mrs Effie Miner of Lawtey, and Mrs Pauline Torode and Mrs J.W. Andrews of Starke. The body was carried to St. George where funeral services were held at the Boone's Creek Cemetery at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning.
