Born October 30, 1891 in St. George, Georgia, Mrs. Torode lived in Starke many years. She was the wife of the late William E. Torode. Mrs. Torode was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Bradford County Cancer Society, and Bradford County Heart Fund chapter.
Survivors include two sons, W.E. (Ed) Torode, Jr., and John A. Torode, both of Starke; a sister Mrs. Mamie Oliver of Winter Haven; two brothers, John Roberts of Jacksonville and Zack Roberts of Hastings, seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning July 25, in the First United Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. George Harper, officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Kingsley Lake Cemetery. DeWitt C. Jones Funeral Home was in Charge of arrangements.
