GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Rachel Lee Atwell Carroll, 76, of Gibson, entered into rest Sunday, December 3, 2006, at the Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Oconee, Ga., on February 5, 1930, to the late Rev. D. P. and Mary Lula White Atwell.
She was predeceased by her brother James Cecil Atwell, and her sister, Mary Viola Teston.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Ruth and Jimmy Spence; her great-nieces, Kelly Evans and Brandy Shelton, all of Thomson.
There was a private graveside service at Bethel United Methodist Church on Monday, December 4, 2006, at 4 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of the Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving and constant care of this very special woman.
Sheppard Funeral Home of Gibson is in charge of the arrangements.
