When Dorley Pierce Atwell travelled south he changed his name to David Phillip Atwell. He also carried a Freedman's card in his wallet. He preached through out the south. He married Mary Lula White in 1925 and had 3 children by her. He died at home in Feb 1940. He died as David Phillip Atwell. a/k/a DP Atwell.
