JENNINGS---------------Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007 at St. Jules Catholic Church, for Harold Dean Klumpp, 74, who died Friday, March 2, 2007 at his residence. Interment will be in Klumpp Cemetery with full military rites. The Rev. Ted Broussard will conduct services.
Mr. Klumpp was a native of Acadia Parish and a resident of the Basile/ T-Mamou area. He served in the Army in the Korea War, was a member of the American Legion, a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus with St Jules Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Nezpique Hunting Club, NRA and Ducks Unlimited.
The family has requested visitation begin Sunday 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. and continue Monday 8 a.m., until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Sunday 7 p.m. recited by the Knights of Columbus in the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mathews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Reed Klumpp of Jennings; two sons, Michael Dean Klumpp and his wife Tracie of Iota, Harry Wood and his wife Sandra of Eunice; one daughter, Darla Shoemate of Brookshire, Texas ; one brother, Donovon Klumpp of Basile; four sisters, Gertie Klumpp Benoit of Basile, Sabdra Klumpp Simar of Evangeline, Lovie Ann Klumpp Henderson do Porter, Texas; Ramona Klumpp of Jennings; nine grandchildren and five great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Effie LeJeune Klumpp ; one son, Bobby Lee Wood, one grandson Mathew Scott Wood; and one sister, Audrey Klumpp Young.
