Funeral services for Oscar J. Lingenfelter, 85, were at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina with the Rev. E. E. Hembree officiating. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery. Mr. Lingenfelter, a retired farmer of southwest of Edina had made his home at the Harrison Hotel in Baring the last two and a half years. He died at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning, Jan, 15, 1970, at the Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital after having been admitted there January 13.
Surviving are two daughters, Norma, Mrs. Tommy Walsh, of Baring and Anna Lee, Mrs. Donald Turk, of Windham, N. Y., five grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Rekus, of Baring, who also resides at the Harrison Hotel.
Mr. Lingenfelter was born April 7, 1884, in Knox County, a son of Henry and Jennie Morrison Lingenfelter. He was married Jan. 1, 1918, at Memphis, to Mary Belle Huffman. They lived for a time near Wyaconda then moved to the farm southwest of Edina. Mrs. Lingenfelter died Oct. 9, 1957. Before going to Baring, Mr. Lingenfelter made his home in Edina after leaving the farm.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Leroy and Leon Lingenfelter, twins, and Lester Lingenfelter, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Davenport.
