A.L. "Moose" Adams
Funeral services for Ammuel Lloyd "Moose" Adams, 80, of Madill were held Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Adams died at his home Sunday morning following 10 years of failing health.
Services were held from Watts Memorial Chapel with Charles Hill officiating, assisted by Hershel Morgan.
Music was by th Grantham Trio of Audine Huffman, Joyce Kenedy and Rita Pruitt with Johnnie Ruth Jacks as organist.
Burial was in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery with Watts Funeral Home, Madill in charge of arrangements.
Casket escorts were John Jones, Bill Chapman, Billy Self, Bryan McAlester, Tre Adams and Denzil, Jim and Ray Cantrell.
Honorary escorts were Ed Benton, Hal Courtney and Hank, Ronnie and Donnie Hartin.
Mr. Adams was born in the Buckholt community Marshall County on April 13, 1913. The son of the late Lucian and Florence Adams lived in Marshall County his entire life.
He married the former Zella Willis in 1934 in Madill. They owned and operated their farm and ranch northeast of Madill since their marriage.
He was a member of the Grantham Baptist Church.
Mr. Adams was a charter member of the Madill Round-Up Club and in earlier years was active in the American Association of Sheriff's Posses and Riding Clubs in playdays and relay races.
In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Adams is survived by a son, Lloyd A. Adams of Madill, and two daughters, Winnie McAlester and Anita Self of Madill.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Lorene Adams of Madill.
