Elaine "Lane" Shear Lytle

BONITA, LA. Elaine "Lane" Shear Lytle, 89, was born October 2, 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana and died peacefully, August 24, 2013 in Denver, Colorado.

Reared in Bonita, Louisiana, Lane graduated from Bonita High School, obtained her Bachelor's Degree at Louisiana State University and later earned her Master's Degree plus 30 more hours from other institutions. Prior to the many years she enjoyed as a Special Education teacher for the Hinsdale, Illinois school system, she was a stewardess for American Airlines. Following retirement, she moved to Denver. She enjoyed her family and friends, traveling, current events, walking for exercise and was an avid bridge player.

Elaine Shear Lytle is survived by two sons, Thomas Robert Lytle and daughter-in-law, Jeanette Ann Greco of Longmont, Colorado and Michael James Lytle and Deborah Shackelford Mock of Bonita, Louisiana; son-in-law, Steve Nelson, his sons, Ben and Chris, and grandson, William Robert Nelson, all of Denver, Colorado; niece, Carol Ann "Cam" McKoin Herrington of Bonita, Louisiana; nephews, Kelsey McKoin and wife Marilyn of Bonita, Louisiana and Scott McKoin and wife Sandi of Cookville, Tennessee; along with several great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Lane is preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Lytle of Hinsdale, Colorado; her parents, Charles Vincent "C.V." Shear and Leslie Scott Shear of Bonita, Louisiana; her daughter, Linda Scott Nelson of Denver, Colorado; and a sister, Jane Shear McKoin of Bonita, Louisiana.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Bartholomew United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Gayle Porter officiating.

Services will be under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
