Dtr. of George and Maria Cresse whose family was from NJ. Children: John Wesley, Herbert, Eddie, Frank Marcy, Robert Cresse, Mable Jane, Lillie Maria, and Lulu Catherine. He came to Sangamon County quite young and was raised a farmer. Mr. Council was considered a well-to-do citizen of Menard County. He had fine land and a beautiful residence.
