BREWER and BANGOR - Stella C. Pelkey, 91, died Oct. 12, 2013, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Bangor, the daughter of John J. and Mary E. (Call) Obey.
Stella was a life-long resident of the Bangor area. She loved to shop and she enjoyed buying scratch tickets at which she was moderately successful.
Surviving are four children, Robert Pelkey and his wife, Sandra, of Connecticut, Patricia Foley and her husband, Richard, of Bangor, Yvonne Young and her significant other, Paul LeClair, of Bangor, and Judith McCormick and her husband, Robert, of Massachusetts; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and six siblings, Stella was predeceased by her son, Michael Pelkey; and her longtime companion, Louis Cocuzzo.
A graveside committal service and burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. (Bangor Daily News 10/16/2013)
