Community, near St Marys, died June 15 at Lakeland Regional Medical
center, Lakeland, Fla.
He was a 1934 Pennsboro High School graduate and a World War II
between. He retired in 1979 from American Cyanamid Corp., Willow Island
Plant with 28 years of service as an operating engineer. While a young
man, he was a projectionist at the Penn Theater and owned and operated
the Midway Pure Oil Station at Pennsboro. He was a member of Harmony
Lodge 59 AF&AM, O'Dell S. Long Chapter 25 Royal Arch Masons, Pennsboro
Commandery 20 Knights Templar and Order of Eastern Star 26 of
Pennsboro.
He was born in Pennsboro, a son of the late David W. and Lessie
L. Mason Wilcox.
He is survived by two daughters, Eleanor Sole of St. Marys, Oak
Grove Community and Judith "Judy" I. Powell of Belmont; two sisters,
Audrey Allen of Elkhart, Ind., and Alfreida Kiegler of Towson, Md.;
five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Patricia Mayfield
Wilcox, in 1991; and five sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at McCullough-Rogers
Funeral Home in Pennsboro with the Rev. Michael Daniels officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Harmony Masonic Cemetery, Pennsboro.
Visitation is after 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Monday.
