"Dr. A. B. Patton, a well known and popular physician, died at his home on East Main Street, Wednesday, October 9, aged 67 years. His death was due to paralysis. On January 9, 1915 he suffered a stroke of paralysis, but recovered and was able to go about his home and on the street. Several weeks ago he was again taken ill and he gradually grew worse until the end came. Dr. Patton was born at Clarksville, this county, May 4, 1851, and was the son of Dr. Alexander and Anne Burson Patton, deceased. He attended Monongahela College at Jefferson and was graduated from the Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in 1877. Later he took a post-graduate course at the same institution. He located at Clarksville for the practice of his profession and a year later he removed to Waynesburg where he had since resided. On August 29, 1880 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Hunnell, of Waynesburg. The deceased was of a genial disposition and had a host of friends. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and Heptasoph fraternal organizations. Beside his wife he is survived by three children, Mrs. John B. Miller, of Wilkinsburg; John Patton, of Pittsburgh, and Harry Patton, who is in the U.S. service and is connected with the signal corps of the aviation section, and is located at South Bend, Wash. One brother and five sisters also survive, Attorney Joseph Patton, of Waynesburg; Mrs. William Olmstead and Miss Margaret Patton, of Falls City, Nebraska; Mrs. John A. Rogers, of Jefferson; Mrs. John H, Myers, Parkville, Missouri, and Mrs. William A. Armstrong, of Nevada, Missouri. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. N. L. Brown. Interment in Oakmont Cemetery."
