Edison Mullins, 75, of Paynesville, WV went to his final resting place Friday evening at Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy, VA, October 18, 2013 after losing a long battle with heart problems. He was born in Paynesville, WV on April 23, 1938 and was the son of the late Emory Jackson Mullins and Spicey Stacy Mullins.

Edison was a graduate of Iaeger High School, a former member of the U. S. Army, a retired coal miner, a member of the John Ratliff Post 164 of the American Legion of Grundy and Crossview Church of Christ of Paynesville. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was mowing the yard, camping, boating or sitting on the porch waving at the traffic as it passed. He loved being around people, especially his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Emory and Spicey Mullins, he was preceded in death by two brothers Edwin and Vaughn, one sister Olivia Blankenship, two nephews Gerald Mullins and Clifford Blankenship and one niece Sherry Shelton Miller.

Survivors included his wife Norma Faye Mullins of the home; daughter Vivian Mullins Barker and husband Bobby of Paynesville; granddaughter Sara Barker Green and husband Josh of Johnson City, TN; a special son-like friend Charlie Johnson and wife Phyllis; two sisters Fannie Shelton and Audra Mullins; brother Ernest Mullins and wife Linda all of Paynesville, WV; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Edison Mullins will be conducted at the Crossview Church of Christ of Paynesville, WV, Monday October 21, 2013 at 12:00 noon with Evangelist Hobert Kenedy officiating. Burial will follow in the Ambrose-Mullins Family Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be his family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Crossview Church of Christ, Sunday between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
