Amos Casey, 82, Sellersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 at the Bennett House, in New Albany. Born June 14, 1931 in Henryville, Indiana he was son of Seymour and Anna Casey. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served as a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He co-owned and operated Sellersburg Auto Service in Sellersburg, with Don McRae. He is a 50 year member of the Buckner Masonic Lodge and a member of the VFW. Amos was a wonderful father who showed a distinctive love to his family, country and community. His family is grateful for the wonderful care and support from the Bennett House. He is survived by his son, David (Mary Beth) Casey, Sellersburg; two sisters, Harriet Meyer, Columbus and Helen Spaulding, Salem; two brothers, Williard Casey, Jonesville and Franklin Casey, Jeffersonville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friend, Geneva Dreyer, Sellersburg. He was preceded in death by wife, Maxine Casey; sisters, Virginia Linn and Ruby Casey; and brothers, Melvin Casey, Leonard Casey, Charles Casey, Irvin Casey and Roy Casey. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 30, Garr Funeral Home and burial followed in Sellersburg Cemetery.
