Diptheria in Garnavillo and vicinity. Last Friday several children were taken sick. Four deaths have occurred, Lorane, youngest son of Emil Walleser and Alois, the little son of Dr. A. A. Schmidt died Sunday. On Monday the son of Mrs. Louis Mandelkow and on Wednesday the daughter of Fred Thoma were called. Drs. Duffin of Guttenberg, Dr. Clark of McGregor, and Dr. Brandt of Farmersburg, were called for consultation. Several other families besides the above have been quarantined and every precaution is being taken to prevent the disease from spreading.
