Alice Moman Godfrey, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Godfrey; daughter, Patricia Godfrey Phelan; brothers: Ed Moman, Earl Moman, J.D. Moman, Lester Moman, and Charles Moman; and sister, Verna Lee Painter. She was born on February 24, 1924 to Ernest and Nora Monman and raised in Littleton. She was a long-time member of New Georgia Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Mount Olive. She is survived by sons: Ray (Bonnie) Godfrey, Charles (Deborah) Godfrey, Jimmy (Debbie) Godfrey, and Darryl (Linda) Godfrey; and daughters: Charlotte (Wayne) Sharrett, Gail (Dan) Brasfield, and Vicki Noles; beloved grandchildren: Kim, Kelly, Heather, Shawna, Jennifer, Shanna, Michael, Ellen, Erin, Wayne, Drew, Nick, Leslie, Josh, Shayne, Matt, Sarah, Cole, and Peyton; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Louise Moman, Levern Neely, and Dot Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was an active member of the North Jefferson Quilter's Guild. Above all she loved her family, but she was also passionate about Alabama football, Atlanta Braves, and card games. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She was loved and adored by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed. We love you and miss you Mother and Granny! Services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 10 am at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel and burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. Ridout's Gardendale Directing.
