Services for Phyllis Abbas, 75, of Fairmont are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Burial is scheduled in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Fairmont.
Mrs. Abbas died Friday morning, Sept. 15, 1995, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman. Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Phyllis T. Wehrenberg was born on Jan. 26, 1920, in Fairmont, daughter of Louis and Sarah (Lockard) Wehrenberg. She attended school and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1938.
On Aug. 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Peter Abbas in LeSueur. They farmed in the Fairmont area until retiring in 1961. She was employed by the Red Owl grocery store in Fairmont until retiring in 1978. In April of 1995, she entered the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman.
Phyllis was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include five daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Ronald Rassett, of Eagan, Laraine and Mick Kielblock, Debra and Bill Conn, all of Mesa, Ariz., Marsha and Larry Kopp, of Lakeville, Becky and Ray Buckmeier, of Grenada; one son and wife, Tim and Jan Abbas, of Fairmont; 13 grandchildren; one sister and husband, Fran and Arnold Jahn, of Fairmont; one brother and wife, Bud and Dorothy Wehrenberg, of Fairmont; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
