Frances Corbett Albright, 97, a direct descendant of the Bell family that was granted a charter by William Penn to settle upper Dauphin County's Bell Valley, died yesterday.

The former Harrisburg resident was living at 314 Boscawen St. in Winchester, Va., and died in a hospital there. She was the first woman ticket agent for the old Pennsylvania Railroad's Harrisburg station, and a partner in the former Albright Hardware Store in Harrisburg. She was a 25-year volunteer for the American Red Cross, and was an ambulance driver for the organization during World War II.

She was the widow of George H. Albright. Surviving are a son, retired Lt. Col. William C. Albright, of Winchester; and a grandson.
