I am still researching this family line. In the 1900 census, it states that Margaret had given birth to 9 children and 8 were still alive. So far I have only been able to accurately identify 6 children of Peggie's. I am not sure if this is an error on the census takers part or if there were indeed other births. I do know that George Henry Shell was her last child. I was not able to locate Margaret in the 1870 or 1880 census.

Margaret's first husband Simon Buchanan died in 1863. In the 1870 Census we find Peggie and her 3 sons split up. Winfield Scott "General" Buchanan is living with W.B. & Dicey Buchanan.

I made Margaret's memorial in this Cemetery based on information from her death certificate compared to the information on her son Nathaniel A Buchanan's death certificate & the actual physical location of where Nathaniel A Buchanan is buried. So until further evidence arises that contradicts the known circumstantial evidence, may she rest in peace here with her husband & son.
2015 Update: A very generous person who lives near the cemetery has searched it for the graves of Lemuel & Margaret. They found no evidence that they had been buried here. However, we haven't found evidence they are or aren't buried anywhere else either. Based on information told to me by my Grandmother, I know Margaret was buried near her family in Cranberry but my Grandmother had never been to the actual grave sight to know the specific location. I know that of the 4 children, she was the closest to Nathaniel & George. I also know that George did not have the means to take care of her's and Lemuel's burials but Nathaniel most certainly did. So at this point the search continues & we will update as more information comes to light.
