"The death of James A. Davidson, Chief of the land board of the Attorney General's office of New York City, and a former well known resident of Cooperstown, occurred at his home, No. 87 Whitehall Road, Albany, on Thursday of last week. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Temple Baptist church, the Rev. Samuel J. Skevington, pastor, officiating, and the body was brought to Cooperstown Sunday where burial was made in Lakewood cemetery, the Rev. H. M. Pease, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating at the committal service at 2 o'clock. Mr. Davidson was born in Cherry Valley in 1867 and received his early education in Cooperstown and attended George Washington University at Washington, D. C., from which he was graduated ... Mr. Davidson is survived by his second wife, and five children, Miss Katherine Davidson of Niagara Falls, Robert E. Davidson of Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. W. Davis of Cleveland, O.; Miss Lena M. Davidson of Hudson, and James A. Davidson, Jr., of Harrisburg, Pa. There are also four grandchildren, one sister, Miss Jane Davidson, and one brother, Andrew Davidson, of this village, and a brother, Lewis Davidson of Schenectady. The deceased was a member of the James Ten Eyck Chapter, F. & A. M., Albany Temple Commandery and the Capitol City Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Cyrus Temple."
