Freeman Olson was born in Moe Township, Douglas County on December 6, 1917, the son of John and Minnie Olson. Freeman attended school in Moe Township and worked at various places until moving to Alexandria two years ago, where he passed away at the Douglas County Hospital on Monday, November 5, 1973, at the age of 55 years.

He is survived by seven sisters and one brother: Ruth (Mrs. John Esala) of Moe Twp.; Mrs. Edna Sacarias of Deer River, Minnesota; LaVina (Mrs. Joe Graf) of San Jose, California; Marie (Mrs. Paul Sakai) of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Ellen (Mrs. William LaBelle) of Minneapolis; Emlie (Mrs. D. W. Swigart) of Denver, Colorado; Mervin of New Brighton, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were Thursday, November 8, 1973, 2 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Chapel, Alexandria, Minnesota, with Rev. Bruce Brinkman officiating. Interment at Finnish Apostolic Cemetery, Moe Twp. Pallbearers were Clarence Olson, Kenneth Esala, Charles Esala, David Esala, Wm. Bahe, Elmer Olson.
