Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Monday, April 1, 1957, page 2:
  James Somerville Wilson, 80, of 6 Abner place died at his home at 11:15 a.m. Sunday following a lingering illness. A retired mechanical engineer, chiefly in metal fabrication in the larger industries in Ohio, he came here to reside from Lakewood, O., in 1950.
  The deceased was born April 23, 1876 in Cynthian, O., the son of the late Lewis C. and Emma Steel Wilson of Columbus. He was married Oct. 14, 1909 in Chillicothe, O., to Anna Katherine Korst, who survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Lewis P. Wilson of Old Alton road, Edwardsville; five brothers, Gilbert of Pittsburg, Pa., Williard of Caldwell, Ida., Lewis of Mexico, Charles of Columbus, and Sam, who is serving with the army in Korea; one sister, Mrs. Robert Wylie of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
  He was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Edwardsville and a charter member of the Shut-In club, the Great Books Discussion Group, both of Edwardsville, and Washington Chapter 25, RAM of Akron, O.  He was 50-year member of the Masonic lodge, having been presented with is 50-year pin by the local chapter. Earlier in life, he had attended Ohio State university for four years, where he majored in engineering.
  Friends may call at the Lesley Marks funeral home in Edwardsville after 7 p.m. Monday until 2 p.m. Tuesday when services will be held there with the Rev. John P. Emig, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating.
  Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Pallbearers were Julius Shaffer, Robert Wilson, Bruce Fiegenbaum, Alfred Raut, Orville Harris and Ray Foster.
