Delaney Washington Hall was a farmer and tobacco buyer in Caldwell, now Lyon County, Kentucky. Hall married Rachael Matilda Thompson on January 21, 1824 in Caldwell County. They had eight children:

Nancy Thompson Hall
Pernecy P. Hall
Thomas Alexander Hall
John Ethelder Hall
Angeline Matilda Hall
Andrew Martin Hall
Prudence Caroline Hall
James Hezekiah Hall

Delaney Hall's second wife was Mrs. Elizabeth (Caroway) George.

The Delaney W. Hall family plot is located on what was the Hall family farm in the community of Confederate, not far from the site of the Tennessee Rolling Mill. The cemetery was just to the right of the farm house which was destroyed by fire many years ago. Prudence Caroline Hall and her husband Thomas Lewis acquired the farm after her father's death, and it was later owned by their son, Will, and in recent memory was known as the "old Will Lewis place". The property now lies within the easement of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.

The cemetery was recorded in 1985 by Mildred Gresham, June Thorpe, and Kelma Young (see Cemeteries of Lyon County, Kentucky by the Lyon County Historical Society, 1989, page 331.)
