Rachael was the wife of Delaney Washington Hall, the daughter of James and Rachel (George) Thompson, and the granddaughter of Joseph and Mary Thompson of South Carolina, and Andrew and Sarah (Langston) George, also of South Carolina. She was born in Caldwell, now Lyon County, Kentucky, where she lived all of her life. She is said to have suffered a heart attack and died while shelling peas on the front porch of her home. She was buried just a few feet from the house in the family plot.
