Kazimierz Ceran came to the U.S. on March 11, 1888 (the day of the big blizzard). He first worked on a farm in Glen Cove, Long Island, later coming to Jersey City, N.J. where he met Anna Sawicka. Anna emigrated to the USA in 1887 at age 16. They were married on June 2, 1892 in St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Jersey City, N.J. Kazimierz Ceran became a U.S. citizen on December 13, 1898. After arrival in Jersey City, he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for more than 45 years, achieving their Honor Roll when he retired in 1934.
