Russell Paxton
Russell Paxton, 71, 5773 Caledonia Mud Pike, died Wednesday at his home. Born Dec. 31, 1921, in Circleville, he was the son of Noah and Dora (Weaver) Paxton. He married the former Anna Medley in 1942 at Portsmouth. She survives. Mr. Paxton was an electronics technician at North Electric in Galion for 21 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Straw, Caledonia, Mrs. Linda Carmon and Mrs. Margaret Hicks, both Marion; a brother, Roy Paxton, Caledonia; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Compton, Mount Gilead, Mary Hoy, Cardington, and Mrs. Mable Valentine, Circleville; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday at Timson Allen Melroy Funeral Home, Caledonia, with Kenneth Boswell officiating. Burial is in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
