Joan Gritton was born January 16, 1935, in Mechanicsville, the daughter of Harry and Erma (Anderson) Gritton. She graduated from Tipton High School. Joan worked several secretary jobs after graduating from school. She married Donald Stafford in 1955. He preceded her in death in June of 1978. She married Frederick Arlo Crew in 1980. She later helped Fred with farming and the family business.
She is survived by her husband, Fred of West Branch; two sons, Steven Stafford of Tipton, and Jerry Stafford of West Branch; one daughter, Tammy Halvorsen of Chandler, AZ; two step-sons, Mike Crew of Phoenix, AZ, and Tim Crew of West Branch; five grandchildren, Cody, Cory, Cole, Zachary and Taylor; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
