George Stephen Wilder, age 57, of Powell, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jewell Wilder; brothers, James Paul and Luther Wilder; sisters, Mildred Weaver, Elizabeth Fraker, and Frances Long.
He is survived by: brothers,, Raymond Edward Wilder of Austin, Texas, Milton Wilder of Clinton, David Wilder of Harriman, Billy Wilder of Powell, and Herman Long of Clinton; sisters, Louise Dennis of Oak Ridge, Patricia Kanipes of Harriman, and Betty Hewitt of Powell; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with the Rev. Joe Bridges officiating. His burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Woodhaven Memorial Garden. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
